Job Description


Talan is hiring a new consultant to work for one of its clients in the banking industry.

The role requires working with different IT teams from different departments (HR, Risk, Compliance, Middle Office…) to participate in the extension of an existing web interface (Dashboard) in React for Front Office supervision/first line of defense, reporting to the head of NY trading (GMD NY), following regulator’s recommendation.
This Dashboard was initially designed for UK Senior Management, and now needs to be extended to NY.
Within a team of 3 developers globally (based in Paris and London), the candidate will take part in the development of functionalities or new screens by following the development and security standards and processes.
It requires a sense of independence and ability to work within a challenging environment.
Locally the candidate will join a team of 3 RAD Developers.

A broad general knowledge of banking is important.

Key Responsibilities

1. Liaising with the business to understand the requirements and translating them into technical ones
2. Taking part in the development of a Web Framework in React with APIs in Python.
3. Releasing the project in production following CI/CD standards
4. Implementing unit testing in order to ensure high quality deliveries
5. Providing local support of the tool
6. Maintaining strong working relationships with IT teams and any other team the candidate may have interactions with

Legal and Regulatory Responsibilities

7. Complying with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements, including, but not limited to, the London Compliance manual and Compliance policies and procedures as issued from time to time; Financial Security requirements, including, but not limited to, the prevention of Financial Crime and Fraud including reporting obligations to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer.
8. Maintaining appropriate knowledge to ensure to be fully qualified to undertake the role. Complete all mandatory training as required to attain and maintain competence.


Qualifications


Required skills:

  • At least 2 years of experience working as a Developer
  • Strong technical skills in Python and web development (React)
  • Ability to work autonomously


Desired skills:

  • Prior experience working on Reporting systems
  • Experience working in the financial industry is a plus
  • Basic understanding of legal and regulatory processes

The salary range for this role is US$80,000 - US$150,000
