We are looking for a backend developer who has big-picture thinking and can effectively manage expectations and trade-offs while working closely and collaboratively with their colleagues. We build features from the ground up while constantly maintaining and improving on our high availability systems crucial to the success of the business. Through the process we learn, have fun, mentor, and provide endless value to our customers.

What impact will you have on Unbounce? You will tackle some of our most complex backend systems and architecture. You will work with our Chapter of Backend Developers, fostering the growth of technical capabilities and standardizing best practices. You will also collaborate with other leaders to help refine our technical roadmap and leverage your expertise in how we can effectively design solutions and tackle our technical challenges.


What you’ll be doing:

  • You will be designing, building and shipping distributed systems on managed services on AWS. Bonus for expertise in Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, EC2, EKS, and Route53. We also maintain some legacy systems in Java and Ruby
  • You will be participating in kind, constructive and thoughtful code reviews to encourage better software while supporting your team’s knowledge growth
  • You will be ensuring to learn about best practices and industry standards, and apply them at Unbounce to improve how we build and ship software
  • You will be using Application Monitoring and advanced logging to inform improvements and ideas which drive discovery and iteration


A little bit about you:

  • You have experience with the full software development lifecycle – from ideation through to operating backend production services, with an understanding of how applications are deployed across environments
  • You have experience using NodeJs and Typescript to build scalable and maintainable backend services. You can fine-tune and debug NodeJS applications effectively
  • You have a passion for teamwork and collaboration knowing that the best successes are ones accomplished as a team
  • As a bonus, you have some experience/knowledge about some tech stack about how Frontend works and how to communicate with Backend
