KPMG Lighthouse Canada has an exciting opportunity for Software Engineers (Intern/Co-op) to join our team for 4-8 months starting in May 2023!

** Please note that you must be enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary educational institution to be eligible for this opportunity.

What you will do


  • Design and build innovative solutions based on the requirement gathering and system analysis.
  • Work in teams or independently to design technical specifications
  • Collaborate with Solution Specialists and Engineers in drafting the functional specifications required during the software development life cycle
  • Provide recommendations on how software can enhance user experience
  • Design, implement, test and Debug Solution features
  • Provide expertise in cloud/on-prem/hybrid hosting solutions and full stack development
  • Participate in the research and evaluation of new technologies that can help drive innovative solutions for our clients
  • Support partner teams to deliver solutions with great user experiences
  • Familiar with different architecture patterns of development
What you bring to the role


  • Demonstrated development experience in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, SQL, NoSQL
  • Proficiency in building web applications using one or more JavaScript and CSS frameworks like Angular, React, and Bootstrap
  • Experienced with at least one back-end technology such as Python, Nodejs, and Java
  • Proficiency in designing, implementing, testing, and debugging REST APIs
  • Ability to develop a variety of user-oriented applications to deliver content in intuitive and innovative ways, through desktop, mobile apps, and web interfaces
  • Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure or GCP
  • Familiarity with programming methodologies such as version control (i.e., Git), testing, QA, Waterfall, and Agile development methodologies
