About the role

• We’re looking for a Front End Engineer to join our fully remote and diverse team, helping us build the products needed to transform recruitment at scale. This is an ideal opportunity for a passionate technologist who wants to further their career and make a positive impact on people's lives. Whilst you may have more experience with front-end technologies, you’ll be willing to contribute to whatever is needed and be interested to learn and work across the full platform.
• We work remotely, so the ability to over-communicate on all channels is really important - the team currently relies heavily on Slack, Linear, and Notion. In practice, most of the teamwork is roughly 9-5 in their local time, but so long as your work is getting done and you can give everyone else the support they need to get their work done, we are very flexible. We try to meet at least once a year in a single location, depending on where you are there may be opportunities to do this more often.

About Our Tech Stack

• We believe in choosing the most appropriate technology for the problems we’re solving, but our tech stack currently includes Node.js/Typescript and Serverless (AWS Lambda), GraphQL & React, PostgreSQL and Docker.

What you'll be doing:

• Working daily with other development and product team members to move us toward our next goal
• Breaking down upcoming work into small shippable increments
• Writing clean, readable code to deliver user-facing features, with the right amount of test coverage
• Working closely with other team members, e.g. through PR reviews and pairing
• Continuously evaluating our code, infrastructure, and processes to see if they meet our needs, always looking for ways to improve
• Giving feedback to Product on roadmap direction

Essential Requirements

• 3+ years commercial experience programming in Typescript or Javascript (Typescript is preferred)
• Good knowledge of React or similar SPA frameworks
• Attention to detail and a passion for writing clean, readable, properly tested code
• Experience in building large, complex Single Page Applications in a scalable and maintainable way
• A willingness to learn new things
