Founded in 2019, Leafi is on a mission to give millions effortless control over their most powerful source of light: sunlight. We are starting with a beautiful and patent pending smart controller for any window blinds. Leafi is an investor-backed venture in the [email protected] incubator with a strong vision for the future and a wide support network of mentors and advisors. We’ve had significant tractions this year after building out a successful beta program, where our unit is improving lives in several dozens of homes around BC – from those of smart-home power users to people with disabilities.

A Look Inside This Role

• Develop and maintain the full stack IoT system development from cloud to mobile app (hybrid)
• Collaborate with UI/UX designer to craft the best user experience
• Collaborate with the mechatronics team to prototype new features in the system
• Design and develop APIs and integrate with third-party APIs
• Implement system observability tools
• Build automatic testing suite for functional, reliability, and interoperability tests
• Improve our software development process

Must-haves

• 3+ years of non-internship software development experience
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields
• Knowledge of OAuth and web security mechanism
• Production experience with JavaScript, APIs, AWS, data pipelines, MQTT
• Experience with automated testing frameworks
• Able to simplify and communicate a complex problem
• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills, and the tenacity to drive a solution to a conclusion
• The ability to operate independently, but know when you are in too deep and need to ask for help

And Even Better

• Strong interest in IoT smart home technology
• Familiar with AWS CDK, Amplify, AppSync, Cognito, DynamoDB, GraphQL, IoT Core, Lambda
• Experience with smart home integration such as Google, Alexa, Home Assistant
• Familiar with Git, JIRA, and MS Teams
• Experience with CD/CI tools
